Mike TurnhamÕs expertise is in R&D, manufacturing, computing, systems re-engineering, and high-tech start-ups. His main interest is the strategic application of innovative technologies to enhance business performance, both in improving internal systems and product and service development.

Mike is an Electrical Engineer and he gained his qualifications while working for Muirhead & Company Limited, a south London precision engineering company. Here he was mainly involved in R&D on digital and analogue systems for ships and aircraft. He then moved to Texas Instruments to take up a sales and marketing position. This was during the integrated circuit boom and he subsequently became North European Product Manager for consumer products.

Further career shifts took him into CADCAM with Schlumberger and then to the Xerox Corporation, where he was Channels Marketing Manager for large format electrostatic and inkjet plotters. He later moved into computer systems with a number of PC systems houses, eventually setting up his own consultancy, Advertence. This handled high-tech marketing projects for computer companies.

For the past ten years Mike has been advising small- and medium-sized businesses on their computer system strategies. He also worked on numerous innovation projects, helping and guiding start-up companies and SMEs.
